Irish Life has proudly partnered with Healthy Ireland to help promote the GAA Healthy Clubs Project.

We have been integrally involved with the initiative and have just completed phase 2 with 58 GAA Healthy Clubs having a total membership of 45,000. We enthusiastically continue into phase three of the initiative with over 60 GAA Club’s now recognised as GAA Healthy Clubs. The GAA hope to target 90 new Clubs throughout phase three with the ultimate aim for all GAA Clubs to become GAA Healthy Clubs.

David Harney our CEO said ‘the GAA reaches into every community on the island of Ireland, and has a significant role to play in the health of the nation. We believe this work has the potential to improve the future health of communities across the country’. Irish Life was recognised as an ‘Honorary’ Healthy Club at the launch of their own Wellbeing Month in 2016.

Throughout 2017 Irish Life’s own Health & Wellbeing Co-ordinator (Joan Rock) travelled with the GAA Healthy Club Road Show Ambassador’s, Mickey Harte, Philly McMahon, Anna Geary and Michael Fennelly to help promote the Project and to share with GAA delegates Irish Life’s own award winning Health & Wellbeing initiatives.

GAA All Star Anna Geary and Dublin’s legendary Kevin McManamon successfully launched Irish Life’s 2017 Wellbeing Month. Staff had the opportunity to don their Club Jersey and have their photographs taken with the iconic Sam Maguire and Liam McCarthy Cups.  At short notice the GAA also brought along the Ladies’ Brendan Martin Cup to kick start a very successful 2017 Health & Wellbeing Month.
